Aqueon LED Bettabow Aquarium Starter Kit is a 2.5 gallon fish tank. It comes equipped with a divider should you wish to keep two Bettas in the tank. Be warned, however, that the divider is not of the best quality. There have been some instances where Bettas were found on the same side of the tank – not ideal! By splitting the tank, you also force one Betta to be in close proximity to the filter. Many Bettas, especially younger ones, find the filter too strong given how close to it they swim.

The Aqueon LED Bettabow Aquarium Starter Kit includes an Aqueon QuietFlow filter which uses small filter cartridges. The tank itself has a feeding hole at the top along with an LED light hood which is energy efficient.

Betta Fish Tank Stands

2.5, 3 and 5 gallon sizes are the most common for Betta fish tanks. It is not necessary to get a specific stand for them – the fit nicely on top of your kitchen counters or even your your desk.

How Many Fish in a Betta Fish Tank?

The general rule for fish tanks is that you should have a maximum of 1 inch of fish (length) for every gallon of water. Some people extend this to 1.5 inches with success, but it is not generally recommended. The 1 inch of fish per gallon of water is based on the fish at their fully grown size. Not the size that you buy them at!

For one Betta, you will need at least 2.5 gallons. It is recommended, however, to use a 5 gallon tank for one Betta if you have the resources to do so as it will make it easier to keep the tank free of toxins. If you want something larger again there are some great 10 gallon fish tanks available on the market today.

Betta Fish Tank Dimensions

Betta fish tanks can come in a range of sizes. The most common for a single Betta are 2.5, 3 and 5 gallons. These have dimensions of 12″ x 6″ x 8″, 10″ x 10″ x 14″ and 16″ x 8″ x 10″ respectively. Betta aquariums of this size make for great starter tanks. They easily fit on top of your kitchen counters, on your desk, or even on smaller furniture pieces around your home.

A Betta fish tank of these sizes will weight 27-62lbs when full depending on the size chosen. (approximately 12-28kg). Once you have decided on your tank it is then worth considering the best plants for your Betta fish.

If your tank does not come with a pre-fitted filter there are some great Aqueon filters of a suitable size.
