Fluval forms part of the Rolf C. Hagen Group of Companies, who sell a range of pet supplies. The Fluval brand focuses on the aquarium world, selling range of products which includes filters, heaters and the aquariums themselves. Fluval offers a range of aquarium products, but is probably best known for their range of performance canister filters. The 307 forms part of their 7th generation filter, replacing the 306. Below we take a look at the new Fluval 307.

The Fluval 307 Canister Filter is part of the 07 Series of fish tank filters produced by Fluval. It is suitable for aquariums with a capacities of 40 to 70 gallons. It is known for its powerful motor technology and ability to run quietly, especially compared to many other filters on the market. It is claimed that the upgrades from the 06 series make it up to 25% quieter, more energy efficient and easier to use. The Fluval 307 Canister Filter is made in Italy. It is perfect for those looking for a high quality filter. And is able to keep the water in 40-70 gallon fish tanks perfectly clear.

Made in Italy, the Fluval 307 Canister Filter has a multi-stage filter pump. It can pump out 303 gallons (1150 liters) per hour. It has a filter circulation of approx 206 gallons (780 liters) per hour. And a canister volume of 7.3 liters (approx. 1.9 US gallons). The Fluval 307 Canister Filter has dimensions of 9.5 x 7 x 16.5″ (24 x 18 x 42 cm).

The Fluval 307 can be used for both fresh and saltwater aquariums. It has a square shaped container. And is able to hold up to 50% more water than containers of a similar size that are round in shape. It makes great use of it’s sound dampening design, providing filtration without significant ambient noise. Unlike many other filtration systems on the market! The 307 also comes with a dual level foam screen as well as an intake strainer.

The 07 Series features several improvements on the prior models. Notably:

• A redesigned, substantially enlarged rubber feet stabilizers offer superior vibration-dampening ability and added protection

Previous versions of this filter caused some issues with the priming. But these were rectified in the 06 series. It is easy to set up. Either follow the instructions provided, or use one of the YouTube videos that are available for your assistance.

There is no doubt that Fluval filters are among the best (if not these best) available on the market today. The Fluval 307, has more than enough power to keep a 40-70 gallon fish tank clean and clear. And it is incredibly efficient at doing so.

Overall we think that the 07 Series, while not cheap, is a great option for professionals and enthusiasts alike.

3 Year Limited Warranty

Per Fluval:

“Fluval 07 Series External Filters are warranted against defects in material and workmanship under normal aquarium usage and service for three (3) years from date of purchase. Non-replaceable and non-serviceable parts will be repaired or replaced at Hagen’s discretion, free of charge, when the complete filter is returned with all components along with a valid proof of purchase and postage paid. The warranty does not cover wear and tear parts such as the impeller assembly or motor seal ring. The warranty does not cover wear and tear or parts which have not been adequately or correctly maintained. The warranty is limited to repair or replacement only and does not cover consequential loss, loss or damage to livestock, personal property or damage to animate or inanimate objects, irrespective of the cause thereof. This warranty is valid only under normal operating conditions for which the unit is intended. This excludes any damage caused by unreasonable use, negligence, improper installation, tampering, abuse or commercial use. Before returning the filter under warranty terms, please ensure that all setup and maintenance instructions have been followed.
