The Altra Laguna tide 29-37 gallon Aquarium stand is of great quality and makes for an attractive feature in any home or office. The stand itself is sturdy – much more so than many other stands on the market. The two cabinet doors conceal a large shelf which can be used to store fish food, water treatment items, and other fishkeeping paraphernalia. There are also three open compartments that are well suited to holding photos, collectibles or even books.
It is great to see that the Altra Laguna tide 29-37 gallon fish tank provides a sturdy and quality 29-37 gallon fish tank in a sturdy manner and without the slightest fear of collapse. The only drawback of this model is that it requires time to assemble. Although not overly complicated, and only requiring a screwdriver and hammer, it does take time and patience to assemble the product. We think it is worth it though for the final product! A decent option to combine with one of the above tanks if you’ve looking for a 30 gallon fish tank and stand combo.

The Imagitarium Brooklyn Metal 29 gallon fish tank stand has a solid construction and is made from durable steel. It has adjustible feet – perfect for ensuring that your tank is level even if your floor is not! It is easier to assemble than the Ameriwood Home Laguna Tide and perhaps a better choice for those who prefer to avoid DIY construction.
Taking into account the low price of the Imagitarium Brooklyn Metal Tank Stand – for 29 Gallon Aquarium we feel that it offers great value for money. Our only suggestion would be to consider adding a small shelf to the top (and perhaps even at the bottom). This would improve the overall look of the stand and also give the fish tank a fully stable base on which to sit.

The Imagitarium Preferred Winston 29 gallon fish tank stand does, however, have two main drawbacks:
- It is not as sturdy as the Ameriwood Home Laguna Tide model

Not the worst stand in the world, but certainly not top of our recommendations list.
How Many Fish in a 29-30 Gallon Fish Tank?
The general rule for fish tanks is that you should have a maximum of 1 inch of fish (length) for every gallon of water. Some people extend this to 1.5 inches with success, but it is not generally recommended. Bear in mind that the 1 inch of fish per gallon of water is based on the fish at their fully grown size, not the size that you buy them at!
It is therefore recommended that you have a maximum of 30 inches of fish in a 30 gallon fish tank. If you want something bigger consider either a 50 gallon or 90 gallon fish tank.
Fish For 29-30 Gallon Fish Tanks
As discussed above, it is best to limit your fish to about 30 inches in total length when constructing a 29-30 gallon fish tank. This could be made up in a range of ways, such as:
- Goldfish. Although most thought of as the small fish that you win at a fair, Goldfish can actually grow to 10 inches or more. As such, they are well suited to a 29-30 gallon fish tank.
- Consider adding in some Cory Catfish (Corydoras). These non-aggressive fish grow to about 2 inches and are great for helping to clean the tank in which they are kept.
30 Gallon Fish Tank Dimensions
The standard dimensions of a 30 gallon fish tank are 36″ x 12″ x 16″.
