The Aquaclear 110 is an aquarium power filter. It is designed for use in 60 to 110 gallon aquariums. It employs a multi-stage filtration system offering mechanical, biological and chemical filtration.
It is possible to control the flow rate of the filter. So you will be able to adjust it according to the requirements of your specific aquarium. The filter has a maximum output of 500 gallons per hour. This is why this model used to be called the AquaClear 500.
The filter is easy (and quick) to install. And it can be used for both freshwater and saltwater aquariums.
The filter comes with 3 different filter media:
1. AquaClear Foam (for mechanical filtration).
This filter media removes dirt and particles before the water is passed to your other filter media. This helps to ensure the other media do not become clogged. Thus ensuring that their efficiency is maximized. Additionally, it offers a good environment for the development of beneficial bacteria.
2. Activated Carbon (for chemical filtration).
This filter is designed to improve the overall water quality, reducing any discoloration, odors, and impurities present in your water.
3. BioMax (for biological filtration).
This is a ceramic media designed to provide an optimal environment for the colonization and growth of beneficial bacteria. In turn, these bacteria assist in the biological filtration and water purification processes essential for a healthy tank. This filter helps to minimize the ammonium and nitrate levels in your tank.
Aquaclear offer a range of replacement filter media as well as additional options such as Zeo-Carb and Ammonia Removers. There are sized and designed specifically for the AquaClear 110 Power Filter.
